Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions:

My gift card won't work when I checkout!

Oh, technology. We apologize for this inconvenience, but unfortunately any gift cards currently in circulation will ONLY work for IN-STORE purchases. We hope to offer gift cards in the future that will work for both online and in-store purchases. If you'd like to use your gift card, please call us and we'll either put your order aside for you and you can pay using your gift card when you pick-up your order OR call us and we will kick it old school and manually process your order.

Why is there a delay between my order and the shipping notification?

We believe you deserve the best and freshest coffee possible, so all of our coffees are almost always roasted fresh for you upon order. What you see on our retail shelves is all we have, we don't overstock or let our product sit for months. Fresh is best. For this reason you may experience a short delay between time of order and your pickup/shipping notification – that's because we're hard at work roasting your coffee on-demand to ensure you will enjoy the best cup possible.

Do you deliver?

Changes coming to local delivery April 16, 2023. See details here.

I love your coffees, can I sell them in my shop?

Yes! We have over 500 wholesale partners throughout Ontario. Retailers sell our packaged coffees and teas in their shop and/or sell our freshly brewed coffee by the cup. For the latter, we even offer rental equipment such as brewers, grinders and carafes, as well as café necessities such as creamers, sugars and cups to help you outfit your cafe (Ontario only). Please contact us at sleepymonk@badencoffee.com for a quote or for more information.

Can I order a custom roast for my business or event?

Of course you can! You can come in for a tasting to choose the coffee that best reflects your character. We even offer the option of making custom labels for your coffee packages. Some of our clients that use this service include real estate agents, wedding parties, and marketing companies. Please contact us at sleepymonk@badencoffee.com for more information.

Do you sell K-Cups (or K-pods)?

Yes, but we call them 'Katie Cups', named after our owners' daughter. They're available in boxes of 12 cups/pods and can be found listed as an option for almost all of our coffees.

How much coffee do you roast on site?

We roast thousands of pounds of coffee here on-site every week. We believe that every package of coffee you buy should be fresh and perfect. 30 days is the maximum amount of time we allow coffees to sit on the shelf, but it rarely stays that long. Most of our coffee is sold within 7 days after roasting. Stop by the cafe if you get a chance and most days you'll see the roasters in action!

What's the difference between Fairtrade and Direct Trade?

When a product carries the Fairtrade Mark it means the producers and traders have met official Fairtrade Standards. The standards are designed to address the imbalance of power in trading relationships, unstable markets and the injustices of conventional trade.

Our Direct Trade coffees have been one of our most proud initiatives. We've been able to develop direct partnerships with farmers to create a direct 'pipeline' between the producers and Baden Coffee Company. We directly support the farmers, their families and their communities.

Do your flavoured coffees contain excess sugar?

No. There is no sugar in any of our flavoured coffee.
